Boulder Lake Ski & Snowshoe Race Update - Rescheduled to Feb 17th

Registration fees for 10.3K and 31K Skate Races:
  • $30 through 12/20/12
  • $35 1/21/12-1/10/13
  • $45 1/11/13 and after
  • $55 for race day registration 8:00-10:00 a.m. at start venue


    Registration fees for 8K (2 laps) Snowshoe Stomp (USSA Regional Qualifier ):
  • $20 through 1/7/13
  • $25 1/8/13 and after
  • $30 race day registration 8:00-10:00 a.m. at start venue

    Registration fees for 4 km Snowshoe
  • $18 through 1/7/13
  • $22 1/8/13 and after
  • $25 race day registration 8:00-10:00 a.m. at start venue

    Schedule of Events
    Sunday, Feb 17, 2013
  • 8:00-10:00 a.m: Packet pickup/day of registration.
  • 10:30 a.m: Pre-race meeting at registration area.
  • 11:00 a.m: Top 20% wave for both 10.3 and 31K skate races.
  • 11:02 a.m: 20-50 percentile wave.
  • 11:04 a.m: 50+ percentile wave.
  • 11:06 a.m: Snowshoe Stomp 4K/8K one mass start
  • 1:20 p.m: Skier cut-off time to begin 3rd lap.
  • 2:00 p.m: Estimated time of awards ceremony and door prizes at the venue.

    Snowshoe Division
    The course will be seperate from the ski course, going through the northern part of Boulder Lake Management Area on groomed trails. One mass start will be after the last ski wave going opposite direction over start line, and finish will be at adjoining finish line to the ski finish to utilize chip timing. Those doing 8 km will do two laps lapping before heading across the finish. Part of the Braveheart Snowshoe Series

    Awards
    Ski Race Awards: All 1st through 3rd place age group winners will receive commemorative race mugs. Age groups: 13-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+. Also back is the "31K Middle of the Pack Award" which is a pair of Pursuit T6004 rollerskis to the one who finishes in the exact middle.
    Snowshoe Awards: All 1st through 3rd place age group winners will receive commemorative race mugs. Age groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+
    Door Prizes: We will again be giving away some great door prizes again this year including products from Pursuit Rollerskis (at least one pr for random drawing) courtesy of RollerskiShop.com, Ski Hut, and other door prizes.

    If you haven't raced in the Boulder Lake Ski Race & Snowshoe Stomp, you need to add this one to your early season racing. Over its 9 years, this race has become a must do event attracting novice to elite. This year come race under the towering White Pines and over rolling hills in either the 31 km or 10.3 km skate races, or try the 4 km or 8 km (2 laps) snowshoe. The 10.3 km skate does 1 lap while the 31 km does 3. Race is located 18 miles north of Duluth on the beautiful Boulder Lake Management Ski Trails owned by Minnesota Power. All trails will be groomed for skate only as this is a skate only race. Free hot chili at the finish line tent once again and great door prizes. Register early for biggest savings.
